Easy Peanut Butter Granola Bars Recipe

Easy Peanut Butter Granola Bars Recipe

Total Time: About 20 minutes (5 minutes to prepare and 15 minutes to cook)

Makes: 32 squares

Ingredients:

- 6 cups rolled oats (make sure they are gluten-free if you need that)

- 1 1/2 cups natural peanut butter

- 2/3 cup honey or maple syrup (honey is better for sticking)

- 1 cup mini chocolate chips (optional, you can skip this if you want)

- 4 whole eggs

- Optional add-ins:

Pinch of salt (skip if using salted peanut butter)

Walnuts, pecans, almonds, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, or dried fruit (more options, but you don’t have to use all)

Instructions:

1. Heat Your Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. Mix the Ingredients:

   - In a big bowl, put all the ingredients together. Mix them well!

   - If your peanut butter is hard, heat it in the microwave for 10-15 seconds to make it easier to stir.

3. Prepare Your Baking Dish:

   - Take a 9x9 inch baking dish/pan and line it with parchment paper. This makes it easy to take out the bars when they are done.

4. Put the Mixture in the Dish:

   - Pour the mixture into the prepared dish.

   - Press it down very firmly and evenly. The more you press, the better the bars will stick together.

5. Bake the Bars:

   - Place the dish in the oven and bake for 15-17 minutes. Start checking at 14 minutes to see if they look done. The edges should be a little brown.

6. Cool and Cut:

   - Take the pan out of the oven and let it sit on a cooling rack or cutting board.

   - Let it cool just a little, then use a sharp knife to cut it into squares.

Enjoy your homemade peanut butter granola bars! They are great for snacks!
